Our Family Treasures
Christ Church North Hills Stewardship Campaign 2026
October 1, 2025
Dear Christ Church Family,
This fall, as the leaves turn and the air grows crisp, we’re invited to reflect on what truly matters—what we treasure. It’s a season for remembering that the most valuable things we hold aren’t things at all. They’re relationships, traditions, and shared purpose that make us a church family. That’s why our stewardship theme this year is Our Family Treasures.
At Christ Church, we are more than a congregation—we are a spiritual family. And like any family, we thrive when each member brings their gifts to the table. Stewardship is our shared commitment to nurture this community through our time, talent, and treasure.
Each of these gifts plays a vital role in our shared ministry:
- Your time—what we give when we show up—whether it’s attending worship, lending a hand at coffee hour, or simply being present for one another.
- Your talents, the unique spark each of us carries. From singing in the choir to fixing a leaky faucet, teaching Sunday school to organizing outreach—your gifts matter.
- Treasure is how we sustain our ministries. Your financial support keeps the lights on, the doors open, and the Spirit moving through all we do.
This year, we invite you to consider: What do you treasure most about our church family? Maybe it’s the calm that comes with prayer, the giggles that remind us of life’s wonder, the hymns that feel like home, or the simple joy of pitching in when someone needs a hand.
Whatever your answer, know this: you are a treasured part of Christ Church. Your presence, your gifts, and your generosity help shape a community where grace is not just preached—it’s practiced.
In addition, think about how you might stretch—just a bit—in your giving. Whether that means pledging for the first time, renewing a past pledge, increasing your financial pledge, volunteering in a new ministry, or simply showing up more often, every offering matters. Together—longtime members and newcomers alike—our shared treasures form the foundation of a parish that thrives in joy, faith, and purpose.
We invite you, when considering this, to do so in prayer. The Christ Church family walks in the footsteps of the first followers of Jesus, to whom St. Paul gave this advice: “Give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver.” Paul also encourages us to consider that “whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously”. That is, the very act of giving is meant to be a spiritual exercise: we grow in faith through sharing our God-given treasures, whatever they may be. Doing so enables us “to abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). And finally, recall Jesus’ own words: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).
In the coming weeks, you’ll receive more information about making your pledge for 2026. Your support—financial and otherwise—makes a difference. By making a financial pledge to the church, we’re able to better plan how we live out our mission as a church family and how we share our parish treasures with each other and the world around us. Pledges of all sizes matter—they are all acts of faith, and together, they form the foundation of a generous, purposeful, and grace-filled community.
Instructions for making your pledge either online or by paper are as follows. Whether you’re pledging for the first time, returning after a break, or continuing your annual commitment, we invite you to visit the Christ Episcopal Church website (http://www.christchurchpgh.org) and use the easy “EZ Pledge Button” to submit your 2026 commitment. If you prefer to pledge by paper, pledge cards will be available in the narthex if you do not get one in the mail. Feel free to drop your completed card in the collection plate during worship or mail it to the church office via U.S. mail—whatever works best for you. Your response to this campaign by Consecration Sunday, November 2, 2025 will be most appreciated since it is a critical component in developing our 2026 budget guidance. Thank you.
With gratitude,
The Christ Church Stewardship Committee
Fr. Chuck Weiss, Interim Rector
Some Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What is a pledge?
A: It is a deliberate response we choose to make to God’s grace in our lives. It is a statement of our support for God’s work through Christ Church. It is a commitment we make to our parish community.
Q: How much should I pledge?
A: Only you, after prayerful consideration, can answer that question! It might help you to reflect on:
- How Christ Church supports you in your spiritual journey.
- What Christ Church means to you in your daily life.
- How you want to support the ministries of Christ Church.
Q: If my life circumstances change, may I change my pledge?
A: Absolutely. Your pledge is not a legal promise, but is a joyful support for the ongoing life of the church. You may change it (down or up!) at any time!
